你曾經自己計畫過一趟旅行嗎？西寶國小的孩子們用花和果實、昆蟲與鳥獸來計算在山中的日子：音樂教室前的老梅開滿白花是一月、宿舍門口桃樹結果紅了臉在三月…在山裡生活的孩子們，計畫去一個四面都是海的小島旅行：他們自己訂民宿、排行程，甚至要想辦法寫好台詞跟遊覽車公司的經理殺價…找到角鴞的圖片和叫聲，希望旅途上可以遇見它；練習達悟族打招呼的字句，期待會帶給另外一群小學生一陣驚喜…那一年，他們都只有十一、十二歲。

Almost all children in Taiwan face the rigid education system of cram schools, standardized tests and corporal punishment. But not for the students at Sibao Elementary School, a boarding school in the deep Taroko Mountain on the east coast. The alternative education here offers a glimpse of hope that, some children still have the right to have fun while they learn.
